Iti
Performing Artist & Teacher
Iti started learning Sitar at an early age of 11 where she was introduced to the khayal style of Indian Classical Music. However at 19, she moved to Mumbai to further her studies in depth and began her training under the industrious Ustad Mohi Bahauddin Dagar of the most ancient Indian Classical music gharana of Drupad form of Indian music.
To this day she continues to learn from him, having graduated to learning and playing Rudra Veena.
'Having performed at various venues, retreats and fests, URU feels very special in many respects. It symbolises breaking boundaries in order to embrace the world in its entirety without discrimination of creed, cast and gender. I deeply relate to and rejoice at this complete sense of fair freedom. May URU grow boundlessly and seamlessly, as it should!' - Iti.
