ŪRU

Your queer village

11-13 April 2025

Welcome to ŪRU

ŪRU (Ooru) meaning ‘village’ is India’s first queer camping festival, held annually. The first two instalments of ŪRU were held in Wayanad, Kerala in 2022 & 2023 respectively.

The mission of ŪRU is to create a safe space in nature for queer folx and allies to gather, feel boundless joy, share experiences, make connections and exchange ideas.

ŪRU aims to always be an inclusive, welcoming, fun and creative space where anyone can be who they are without fear of judgement or discrimination.

ŪRU is an alternative space for celebrating togetherness, positivity and nature far away from mainstream city lives. A space which will always be proof that when community comes together to collaborate magic can be created.

In essence, ŪRU will be a conscious queer village where one can sing under the stars, dance around the fire, create, freely express and explore themselves.
